Steve Cooperstein has been with Brookman, Rosenberg, Brown and Sandler since 1989. He is a 1974 graduate of Williams College, and a 1977 graduate of Villanova University School of Law. After receiving his J.D., Steve became an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, where he served until 1986. During his tenure in the District Attorney’s Office, Steve handled hundreds of appeals, filing briefs and presenting arguments in the Pennsylvania Supreme and Superior Courts, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition, for a period of time, Steve supervised the District Attorney’s responses to petitions for writ of habeas corpus filed by sentenced prisoners in the United States District Court. At the time he left the District Attorney’s Office for private practice, Steve was chief of the Legislation Unit.
From 1986 until 1989, Steve was with the Philadelphia firm of White and Williams, working in its commercial litigation department. In 1989, Steve assumed his current position. Over the years, he has done extensive pretrial and post-trial work in all areas of the firm’s cases. |
